AWP Conference & Bookfair - February 2-5, 2011

Event Description:

The annual AWP Conference (Association of Writers and Writing Programs) & Bookfair will take place in Washington DC this year at the Marriott Wardman Park & Omni Shoreham Hotels. This year’s keynote speaker is Jhumpa Lahiri, author of Interpreter of Maladies, which won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and her first novel, The Namesake (2003), was adapted into the popular film of the same name.

Featured speakers include: Junot Diaz, Sandra Cisneros, Rae Armantrout, Jennifer Egan, Mary Gaitskill, Amy Hempel, Rick Moody,Joyce Carol Oates, Claudia Rankine, Sapphire, and Rosmarie Waldrop, among others.
